Postnatal Massage

Aims and objectives

This course aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge and practical skills required to perform Postnatal Massage. It is suitable for individuals who wish to learn Postnatal Massage techniques, as well as spa and freelance therapists seeking to expand their skills.

Content

This course consists of 21 hours of guided learning, combining theory with hands-on practical training, and includes assessment through practical activities and oral questioning.

The learner will primarily practice the following skills:

• Postnatal massage – to include consultation and contraindications, assess Client’s General Emotional state and record topical postnatal symptoms, conduct a visual evaluation of client’s physical conditions, and discuss treatment plan with client.
• Practice the performing of postnatal massage treatments, follow the postnatal massage sequence. Adopt conventional methods of binding and breast massages.
• In addition, the learner will gain knowledge about health and hygiene, safety, client care, and communication, all of which are crucial for success in the profession.
• Using standard routine tasks, the learner will also learn to create a conducive and comfortable environment in the workspace.

Certificate to be Awarded

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion awarded by ProTherapist Academy.

Face-to-face (Classroom-based)

Minimum entry requirements

• Primary school or equivalent
• Conversant in English
• 18 years old and above
• Learners must be reasonably fit as this course requires physical movements.
• During practical training, learners must be able to receive and give massage for learning and assessment purposes.

Course information and fee

Part-Time classes:

Day classes: 2.30pm – 5.30pm.

Evening classes: 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Student Teacher Ratio: 10:1

Course fee is SGD$690.00
(Includes course materials)

Massage Towels SGD$72.00
(Towels are required for the course. Learners may bring their own or purchase from the school.)

Note: Each learner will receive x1 ‘Bengkung’ which is the binding cloth to wrap around the tummy.
