Aims and objectives

This course aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge and practical skills required to perform Sports Massage. It is suitable for individuals, sports enthusiasts, spa and freelance therapists, seeking to learn Sports Massage techniques.

Content

This course consists of 21 hours of guided learning, combining theory with hands-on practical training, and includes assessment through practical activities and oral questioning.

The learner will primarily practice the following skills:

• Sports massage comprises:
• Human anatomy and physiology fundamentals
• Effects and benefits of sports massage
• The principles of safe and effective sports massage
• The indications and contraindications for sports massage
• Conducting consultation and  a visual evaluation of client’s physical conditions, and discussing treatment plan with client.
• Practice sports massage techniques in accordance with its sequence. 
• In addition, the learner will gain knowledge about health and hygiene, safety, Client care and communication, all of which are crucial for success in the profession.
• Using standard routine tasks, the learner will also learn to create a conducive and comfortable environment in the workspace.

Certificate to be Awarded

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion awarded by ProTherapist Academy.

Minimum entry requirements

• Pre-requisite: Swedish Massage Certificate or equivalent
• Primary school or equivalent
• Conversant in English
• 18 years old and above
• Learners must be reasonably fit as this course requires physical movements.
• During practical training, learners must be able to receive and give massage for learning and assessment purposes.

Course information and fee

Part-Time classes:

Day classes: 2.30pm – 5.30pm.

Evening classes: 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Student Teacher Ratio: 10:1

Course fee is SGD$680.00
(Includes course materials)

 Massage Towels SGD$72.00
(Towels are required for the course. Learners may bring their own or purchase from the school.)
