Infant Massage

Aims and objectives

This course aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge and practical skills required to perform Infant Massage. It is suitable for parents, caregivers or anyone who wish to learn Infant Massage techniques to strengthen bonding and enhance communication with babies through gentle, nurturing touch.

Content

This course consists of 9 hours of guided learning, combining theory with hands-on practical training, and includes assessment through practical activities and oral questioning.

The learner will primarily practice the following skills:

  • Infant massage – contain a range of massage strokes and styles, as well as how to alter pressure, rhythm, massage duration, and how to respond to the infant’s body language.
  • Conducting consultation with the caregiver to assess therapy suitability, including contraindications and benefits; review and update the infant’s profile.
  • Practice Infant massage techniques in accordance with its massage sequence. 
  • In addition, the learner will gain knowledge about health and hygiene, safety, caregiver and baby’s care, and communication, all of which are crucial for success in the profession.
  • Using standard routine tasks, the learner will also learn to create a conducive and comfortable environment in the workspace.

Certificate to be Awarded

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion awarded by ProTherapist Academy.

Minimum entry requirements

  • Primary school or equivalent
  • Conversant in English
  • 18 years old and above

    Course information and fee

    Part-Time classes:

    Day classes: 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

    Evening classes: 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

    Student Teacher Ratio: 10:1

    Course fee is SGD$340
